I love the geometry of a quilt block. As a graphic designer, I look at two-dimensional things all day. I think that’s why I enjoy quilting so much. What inspired me to make the Quadra Quilt pattern was the way the fabric and color came together to create an illusion of depth — making a flat surface appear dimensional. The Quadra Quilt turned into a fun experiment for me on how to make something as easy as a half square triangle come to form something unique.

About the Designer
I have worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years. I have spent the last 10 years working on pattern design. I’ve contributed designs to several fabric lines for BasicGrey. I am currently creative director for Missouri Star Quilt Company and help produce and publish their magazine, Block. I started quilting a little over two years ago and was immediately hooked. I love to work with my hands and create tactile designs I can wrap myself up in after they are finished. I’ve fallen head over heals for all things quilting and am excited to continue on this journey.
