Casey York received her formal training in art history, but turned to design as a way of combining her interest in history with her passion for designing and teaching. She is an avid quilter, drawing her inspiration from masterpieces of the past as well as the contemporary world. She has released several appliqué patterns to date, and her work has appeared on the cover of Modern Quilts Unlimited (Summer 2013), as well as in Generation Q and Stitch magazines. Her quilt Onwards was one of two winners of the Modern Quilt Guild’s Madrona Road Challenge in early 2013. Her first book, Modern Appliqué Illusions, has just been released by Stash Books (C & T Publishing).
