Japanese Kawaii Quilts

The MQG and QuiltCon are thrilled to present an exhibit of Japanese quilts curated by Naomi Ichikawa, editor of the first Japanese quilt magazine Patchwork tsushin. Some celebrate life events, some depict imaginary scenes, and all are full of eye-popping details. These quilts take intricacy in piecing, applique, and embellishment to an entirely new level! QuiltCon visitors should schedule plenty of time to absorb the exquisite artistry on display in these stunning pieces.

Welcome Blanket

Our friends at Welcome Blanket will be sharing a 10-quilt exhibit, as well as staffing a booth nearby where attendees can learn more and get involved! "The Welcome Blanket Project aims to connect people already living in the United States with our country’s newest immigrants through stories and handmade blankets, providing both symbolic and literal comfort and warmth."
