Twin States MQG

About Us:

The Guild’s purpose is to:

– Develop and encourage the art of modern quilting
– Work with other guilds and groups with a similar purpose
– Encourage new quilters and other fiber artists interested in non-traditional and art fiber projects
– Offer educational opportunities through classes, workshops, and sharing of information
– Support and provide opportunities for “charity” or other works that provide back to the community through the use of modern quilting skills.

History: In the fall of 2017, a group of students in a modern quilt class in Chester, Vermont, started discussing the need for a modern quilt guild to serve Southern Vermont and Western New Hampshire. A steering committee was formed, and shortly thereafter, Twin States Modern Quilt Guild was born. Our inaugural meeting was held in January 2018, and we have been going strong ever since. Twin States has been graced with an incredible membership roster and a spirit of inclusiveness. We are now over 50 members strong, and we are part of the National Modern Quilt Guild. We are of all ages and all types of quilters, from modern traditionalism to improvisation, to art quilting. All are welcome!
Our meetings are held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on the fourth Sunday of the month (except in November and December, when they are held on the third Sunday) at the Westminster Institute, 3534 US Rt 5, in Westminster, Vermont. Members are free. The guest fee is $5 at the door to cover space costs. We hope to welcome you to a meeting in the future!
