I use an improvisational process I call “Dancing With The Wall” for my workshops as well as my quilting practice. I offer two classes: a 2-day 8 hr per day Dancing With The Wall class, and a one-day 8 hr day (or preferably, 2-day/4 hrs/day) Quick Step class. For the longer workshop, students will learn the process and work on a piece of 48×60″ using a palette of 4-7 colors. The Quick Step class uses only two contrasting colors and work on a quilt of about 24×24″. In both workshops, students will learn how to construct the individual components used to make an improv Irene-style quilt. and will be introduced to my intuitive, fluid improv process. My lecture is a 30-45 minute presentation of my art and quilt practice. I show and discuss about 20-25 quilts made in the past 4 years, and talk about my influences, my history, and my process.

Offerings include: Quilt Design, Technique – Curves, Technique – Improvisation, Virtual lecture, Virtual trunk show, virtual workshop
