Featured at QuiltCon 2026

The MQG is proud to host the Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy for a special exhibit and educational experience at QuiltCon 2026!

Based in Gee’s Bend, Alabama—home of the world-renowned Gee’s Bend quilters—the Legacy carries forward a powerful history of art, social activism, and economic empowerment rooted in the civil rights movement. Attendees will experience a special exhibition of Legacy Quilts, participate in live quilting demonstrations, and have the rare opportunity to meet the quilters and purchase handmade works from this influential group of women who have an outsized impact on art, culture, and fashion.
