In this webinar, Riane discusses how to “zoom in” on part of a traditional quilt block and transform it into a modern quilt of any size using negative space and asymmetry. She also explores the differences between traditional and alternate gridwork, and some of the foundational elements of modern quilt design.

Riane Menardi Morrison is a modern quilter and designer making minimal quilts for the modern home. Her work and writing has been featured in several magazines including QuiltCon Magazine, Modern Patchwork, Simply Moderne, and Quilting Arts, and Riane is a coauthor of the book Modern Quilts: Designs of the New Century. She lives and works in Des Moines with her husband, Kevin, and silly pup, Dallas.
