U.S.-Based Guilds must submit an IRS 990 form by May 15th each year All U.S.-based guilds that are part of our tax exemption must file a 990 form with the IRS every year! If your guild fails to file for 3 years in a row, the IRS will automatically revoke your non-profit status and you will no longer be a part of our 501(c)(3) group tax exemption. We use Simple 990 — an online portal used to file the 990-N postcards electronically. The email contact for your guild will receive email reminders from them. Follow the directions in their reminder email. Choose 990-N if your guild’s gross receipts are less than $50,000. It only takes about 5 minutes to do. If your guild is not receiving Simple 990 emails: Check your spam folder Check to make sure the email on file for your guild is correct by logging into your MQG account and going to “Org Profile” on your Profile page. If the email for your guild is correct and it is not in the spam folder, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can look into it. Update Your Guild Email Simple 990 Instructions Got to Simple 990 * If you were a new guild for the last calendar year – this does not apply to you yet.
