Here are some things past volunteers have said about volunteering at QuiltCon...

  • I came to QuiltCon alone, and the day I volunteered was the day I felt most connected to other people.
  • I have made some wonderful quilt friends over the years.
  • I loved getting to meet and talk to other volunteers and guests, it made me feel like l was a part of the event.
  • I loved seeing all the happy faces at the door, welcoming them, and helping attendees find what they needed to enjoy the event.
  • I met lots of new friends and got to contribute in an actual, visible way.
  • I met so many people and had fun. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

QuiltCon would not be possible without the help of our amazing volunteers

Volunteers assist show staff setting up the quilt show by hanging and steaming quilts, assembling goodie bags, preparing the workshop rooms, assembling the goodie bags, and setting up the MQG Shop by unpacking, folding, and organizing the merchandise.

During the event, volunteers greet attendees, provide directions, manage lines, help with badge printing, and hand out goodie bags and lanyards. They also sell and scan passes, assist in the shop and bag check areas, and serve as white glove volunteers - helping attendees view quilts safely while ensuring no one touches them or brings food or drinks near them.

When the show is over, volunteers pack up the workshop rooms, take down all of the quilts, and carefully fold and pack them to be shipped safely home.

Yes, you will receive an email reminder for your shifts two days before them. If you signed up for text reminders, you’ll receive a text reminder then as well.

Please arrive for your shift about 10 minutes before your scheduled start time to check in and pick up your T-shirt. There is no need to check in as a volunteer outside of your shift check-in.

You can pick up your volunteer T-shirt when checking in for your first shift. You will need to wear the QuiltCon Volunteer T-shirt for each shift you work. This helps attendees to be able to recognize volunteers and is important for convention center security.

Note: We reserve shirts for everyone who is scheduled. Please arrive a few minutes early for your first shift,  you’ll be able to change into it before you start. You may pick up your shirt early, but please be patient as getting current volunteers checked in and out of their shifts is the top priority.

You may leave your belongings in the volunteer room while working your shift at your own risk. There will be someone in the room at all times, or it will be locked. You can also pay to leave your belongings in the bag check area.

Volunteers who register an account at SignUp.com can have a report of their hours emailed to them.

To access your Participant Hours Report:
